In the second letter to the Corinthians, Paul speaks of a thorn in the flesh that was given to him, and three times he begged God to take it from him.
..but he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me. Therefore, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and constraints, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak, then I am strong.
-2 Corinthians 12:9-10
Instead of trying to escape his afflictions, Paul embraced them and became a conduit for God’s grace and strength as he spread the Gospel. He participated in Christ’s saving work through humble obedience.
The verse we decided to put on every Jesus Camo garment points to this truth.
“The Lord is with you, mighty warrior” from Judges 6:12, is the message given to Gideon by an angel of the Lord. Recognizing his weakness, Gideon felt unqualified to accomplish what God was calling him to do. Ultimately, Gideon’s choice to trust God led to a victory against impossible odds because God’s power was made perfect in Gideon’s weakness.
The bible is full of examples like this where God accomplishes miraculous things if we just let Him.
The same Lord that gave victory to Paul and Gideon is with us today. No battle is too big or small for Him - Wear Jesus Camo as a reminder of this truth and share it with others. You may find that someone needs the encouragement today.
